The Journey

I looked at the stairway with its dark wood steps and beige carpet adorning the center. Right next to the landing, was an old style wall mounted telephone. For some reason, I had to use the phone. There was an overpowering desire to use it and listen to the person on the other end explain all the mysteries that I have been cursed with.
I reached out to grab the drinking cup shaped receiver and noticed my arm; it was perfectly reflecting the surroundings, like a mirror. I saw myself through the reflection on my hand, contoured and warped within the folds and crevices. Something about my appearance was off though. I smoothed it out with my

Very neat!

when i look at it i can feel the weightlessness (<====yeah.....dumb word) of space.

and it's not a 'featureless' planet to me. o_O it looks like a planet in its very early stages, just after finally forming from the hot material that has been building up from the heat and gravity.

I was not her father. I had entered her life when she was two years old, and she called me Daddy since she never knew her real father. Her mother's death two years ago made me the sole, living parent of an eleven-year-old, and I never felt like I was the right person for the job.

As much of a woman as she was becoming, she was still a child. I wanted to answer her question, but I really had a hard time discussing her blossoming womanhood in the middle of a laundromat. Her pretty eyes were pleading with me, but I told her we'd talk later.
